Electrical Wiring That's Built to Last

Electrical wiring installation is the backbone of every home and commercial building, and Priceless Electric handles it across the Augusta metro and surrounding CSRA communities. Whether you're finishing a new addition, replacing outdated cloth wiring, or laying out circuits for a full renovation, we do the work correctly the first time. John Price has spent over 20 years in this trade, and that experience shows in every wire run, every junction, and every panel connection. If your project needs wiring, call us at (706) 627-6021 before another contractor talks you into cutting corners.

Good wiring installation isn't just about getting power from point A to point B. It's about load calculation, correct wire gauge, proper circuit separation, and understanding how a family actually uses a home. Cost varies significantly depending on the size of the space, the age of the existing system, accessibility inside the walls, the number of circuits required, and whether the job needs permits and inspections. A single-room circuit addition is a very different scope from a full-house rewire on a 1970s ranch. Every job is different -- contact Priceless Electric for an accurate estimate.

What We Wire and Where We Work

From single circuits to whole-home systems, we cover residential and commercial electrical wiring across the region.

01

New Construction Wiring

Rough-in and finish wiring for new homes and additions. We coordinate with builders and inspectors to keep your project on schedule.

02

Renovation and Remodel Circuits

Kitchen expansions, bathroom additions, home offices, workshops. We map out circuit loads before we pull a single wire so nothing gets overloaded down the line.

03

Dedicated Appliance Circuits

Ranges, dryers, HVAC equipment, and EV chargers all need their own circuits. We size them correctly so your breakers aren't tripping under normal use.

04

Smart Home Wiring

Low-voltage data runs, smart switch infrastructure, and connected device wiring. We plan the layout so your home is ready for whatever you add later.

05

Outdoor and Weatherproof Circuits

Patio outlets, landscape lighting circuits, outbuildings, and detached garages. Outdoor work gets weatherproof enclosures and GFCI protection where code requires it.

06

Commercial Wiring

We handle commercial electrical wiring for small businesses, offices, and build-outs in the Evans and Augusta corridor. One crew, no handoffs.

How We Work

Planning Before a Single Wire Gets Pulled

smart home wiring work, professional service in Grovetown, GA
Here's something a lot of homeowners don't realize: most wiring problems start before anyone opens a wall. They start when a contractor skips the load calculation and just runs whatever's on the truck. We don't do it that way. Before any wiring work begins, we assess the existing panel capacity, map out the circuits by zone, and confirm that the wire gauge matches what the circuit will actually carry. If the panel can't support the new load, we say so upfront -- we'd rather have that conversation early than have you call us back six months later with a problem. For older homes, we also check for outdated wiring types that need to come out before anything new goes in. Our electrical maintenance service covers ongoing assessments if you're not sure where your system stands.

How an Electrical Wiring Installation Works

  1. 01

    Site Assessment and Circuit Planning

We walk the property, evaluate the panel, calculate loads, and map out circuits before quoting. No surprises once work starts.

  2. 02

    Rough-In and Wire Runs

We open walls or pull through existing cavities, run the correct gauge wire, and install boxes and rough-in hardware. All work is done to current NEC code and Georgia state requirements.

  3. 03

    Finish, Inspection, and Panel Tie-In

Devices get installed, connections land at the panel, and we coordinate inspections. We don't consider a job done until it passes.

Electrical Wiring Questions, Answered Straight

What wire gauge should be used for a 20-amp kitchen circuit?
A 20-amp circuit requires 12 AWG copper wire. Using 14 AWG on a 20-amp breaker is a code violation and a fire risk -- the wire can overheat before the breaker trips. Kitchen circuits also need to be GFCI-protected at receptacles within six feet of the sink. If you're adding a kitchen circuit, don't let anyone use leftover 14 AWG from a previous job.
How do I know if my home has outdated wiring that needs replacing?
Three things to check: first, if your home was built before 1975, it may have aluminum branch wiring or cloth-insulated knob-and-tube. Second, if your breakers trip regularly under normal loads, that's a capacity or wiring issue. Third, any outlet with only two slots (no ground prong) is pre-1960s wiring that doesn't meet current code. Our electrical maintenance service includes a full system assessment if you're unsure.
Can I add a new circuit without replacing the whole panel?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. It depends on whether your panel has open breaker slots and sufficient amperage headroom. A 100-amp panel in a home with modern appliances, an EV charger, or a generator transfer switch is almost always undersized. We'll tell you honestly what the panel can support before we quote the circuit addition. If an upgrade is needed, we handle panel upgrades as part of the same project.
What's the difference between a dedicated circuit and a general branch circuit?
A branch circuit serves multiple outlets or fixtures -- your living room outlets are probably on one branch circuit with several devices sharing it. A dedicated circuit serves only one appliance or outlet, which is required by the NEC for refrigerators, dishwashers, microwaves, dryers, ranges, and HVAC equipment. Sharing a high-draw appliance on a branch circuit causes nuisance tripping and, over time, can damage both the device and the wiring.
Does new wiring work require a permit in Georgia?
Yes. Any electrical work that modifies the structure of your system -- adding circuits, rewiring rooms, panel changes, new service -- requires a permit and inspection in Georgia. We handle permit applications and schedule inspections as part of every job. Unpermitted work creates problems when you sell the home and may void your homeowner's insurance on related claims. We won't skip the permit to save time -- that's your liability, not ours.
How long does a whole-house wiring installation take?
A full rewire on a typical 1,500 to 2,000 square foot home runs three to five days for rough-in, plus time for inspection and finish work. New construction wiring is typically faster because walls are open. Retrofit work in finished walls takes longer because access is limited. The honest answer is that timeline depends heavily on the age of the home, the panel location, and what we find inside the walls once work starts.
What's the risk of hiring an unlicensed electrician for wiring work?
Beyond the code risk, your homeowner's insurance may deny claims tied to unpermitted or unlicensed electrical work. A licensed electrician in Georgia carries liability insurance and a surety bond -- meaning if something goes wrong, there's coverage. An unlicensed handyman has neither. Wiring mistakes also don't always show up immediately; they show up when a connection fails inside a wall years later.
