Fan Installation That Gets Done Right

Priceless Electric handles ceiling fan and bath fan installation throughout the Augusta metro and CSRA region. Whether you're replacing an old unit, adding a fan where none existed, or finishing out a new room, John Price brings over 20 years of hands-on electrical experience to every install. Licensed in Georgia, bonded, and fully insured. Call (706) 627-6021 to get on the schedule.

Fan installation sounds straightforward until it isn't. Older homes may not have a ceiling box rated for fan weight, or the existing wiring may not support a separate switch leg for the light kit. Bathroom vent fans carry their own requirements around exhaust routing, circuit load, and code compliance for moisture-rated wiring. Getting any of these details wrong means the fan wobbles, the breaker trips, or an inspector flags the work. Priceless Electric handles the full scope: box assessment, wiring, mounting, and final testing. Every job is different -- contact Priceless Electric for an accurate estimate.

Fan Types We Install

Every install gets the same licensed, insured tradesman -- not a subcontractor.

01

Ceiling Fan Installation

New installs and replacements, including fan-rated box upgrades when the existing mount isn't built to hold a spinning load. We wire for both fan and light kit on a single switch or dual switches.

02

Bath Fan Installation

Bathroom exhaust fan installs require moisture-rated wiring and a proper duct run to the exterior. We handle the electrical and coordinate the duct path so the unit actually pulls air out of the room.

03

Fan-Only Circuits

Some installations need a new dedicated circuit, especially in rooms that weren't originally wired for overhead fixtures. We assess the panel capacity and run the circuit correctly.

04

Dual-Switch Wiring

Separate control for the fan motor and light kit requires a switch leg with two hot conductors. We run the right wire from the start so you're not stuck with a single pull chain forever.

Our Process

How a Fan Install Works

Three steps, no surprises.

  1. 01

    Assessment

We check the existing box, wiring, and panel capacity before anything comes down from the ceiling. If a fan-rated box or circuit upgrade is needed, you'll know upfront.

  2. 02

    Installation

We mount the fan, make the connections, and test operation under load. Bath fans get a verified duct path checked before we close the wall.

  3. 03

    Cleanup and Confirmation

We don't leave until the fan runs clean, the switches work correctly, and the breaker isn't complaining. You're not signing off on a job that still has problems.

Why the Box and Wiring Matter More Than the Fan

ceiling fan installation work, professional service in Grovetown, GA
Most fans that wobble, hum, or trip a breaker weren't installed on the right foundation. A ceiling fan puts dynamic load on the box every time it runs -- a standard light-fixture box isn't rated for that. We see a lot of fans hung on the wrong hardware, and the fix costs more than doing it right the first time would have. Bath fans have a different problem: units vented into the attic instead of through the roof or a wall create moisture problems that show up months later as mold. Neither issue is dramatic until it is. We've done this work for over 20 years, and the details that save a homeowner a callback are the ones we don't skip. If you need a full electrical safety inspection alongside the install, we do that too.

What Makes Priceless Electric Different

  1. 01

    Owner-Operated

John Price does the work or directly supervises it. When something needs to be made right, there's a real person with a real license attached to the job.

  2. 02

    Licensed, Bonded, Insured

Every fan installation is covered. If you're comparing quotes, ask the other guy for his license number. Then call us.

  3. 03

    Code-Compliant Every Time

We don't cut corners on box ratings, circuit sizing, or exhaust routing. The work passes inspection because it's done to code, not just to customer satisfaction.

Fan Installation Questions

Can any ceiling box support a ceiling fan?
No. A standard light-fixture box is rated for static loads only, typically 35 to 50 pounds. A ceiling fan generates dynamic load every rotation and requires a fan-rated box rated for at least 35 pounds of dynamic force. If your existing box isn't rated for a fan, we replace it before mounting. Skipping that step is how fans pull out of ceilings.
Does a bathroom exhaust fan need its own circuit?
Not always, but it depends on the existing bathroom circuit load. NEC guidelines require bathroom circuits to be at least 20 amps, and in many cases a bath fan can share that circuit. If the circuit is already at capacity, or if the fan includes a heater element, a dedicated circuit is the right call. We assess the load before we wire anything.
What's involved in installing a ceiling fan where there's no existing fixture?
It requires opening the ceiling to install a fan-rated brace box, running a new switch leg from the fan location to the switch box, and connecting everything to the correct circuit. If dual switches are wanted for fan and light separately, the wiring run needs two hot conductors. It's more involved than a swap, but it's standard work for a licensed electrician.
Why is my ceiling fan wobbling after installation?
Wobble usually comes from one of three places: the box isn't fan-rated and is flexing under load, the blades are unbalanced (a balancing kit fixes this), or the mounting hardware wasn't fully tightened. If the wobble appeared right after a DIY install, the box is the first thing to check. We see this regularly on service calls and can diagnose it on site. You can also reach us at (706) 627-6021.
Does a bathroom exhaust fan have to vent outside?
Yes, by code. Venting a bath exhaust fan into the attic is a code violation in Georgia and creates a direct path for moisture to damage insulation and framing. The duct has to terminate at an exterior wall cap or a roof cap with a damper. We verify the duct path on every bath fan install before finishing the job. If you've got an existing fan venting into the attic, that's worth addressing through an electrical repair visit.
How long does a ceiling fan installation typically take?
A straightforward swap where wiring is already in place usually takes one to two hours. If the job involves upgrading to a fan-rated box, running a new switch leg, or adding a dual-switch configuration, plan on two to four hours. New installs in rooms without existing overhead wiring take longer. Every job is different -- contact Priceless Electric for an accurate estimate.
